The organizing committee is pleased to invite you to the 14th International Density Functional Theory Conference (DFT), to be held in Athens, Greece, from August 29 to September 2, 2011.

This conference is a succession of the ones organizes in Lyon (2009), Amsterdam (2007), Geneva (2005), Brussels (2003), Madrid (2001), Rome (1999), Vienna (1997), Paris (1995).

The DFT11 Conference will be devoted to: fundamental  theory and applications of Density Functional Theory in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Pharmacy.

Topics:

Fundamentals of DFT: Mathematical formulation, density functionals, excited state theory, time dependent DFT, the effect of spin and other symmetries, thermodynamic and relativistic DFT, relation to Hartree-Fock and Optimised effective potential method, extension to the quantum mechanical treatment of nuclei. Applications to simple systems: Atoms, molecules, solids, clusters, nanomaterials, surfaces and interfaces. Applications to large and complex systems: molecules of biological and pharmaceutical interest, large molecules of industrial interest, photochemical reactions. Chemical reactions: General theory, catalysis, solutions, photochemistry, electrochemistry. Computational and Numerical problems.

Proposals for other applications of DFT are welcome.
